Mission Mewat Education

Our flagship 2026 campaign — a village-by-village effort led by Azad Mehrab and the MCI Lakshya team to strengthen government schools, engage madarsas, and build community awareness of education across Mewat and neighbouring regions of Rajasthan. The team is meeting sarpanchs, teachers, elders, and educationists, documenting ground realities, and turning them into concrete pledges.

Key milestones so far:

• 23 July 2026 — Announced water cooler installations in government schools at Maluka, Jhanda, Sonkh and other villages after finding no safe drinking water for children during peak summer.
• 21 July 2026 — Team welcomed by the sarpanch, panchayat, elders, and teachers of Maluka village (Hathin block). Discussed teacher shortages and school infrastructure, and committed to raising the issues with the relevant departments.
• 6 July 2026 — Met social workers and community leaders across the Nagar and Alwar regions of Rajasthan to align on shared education goals.
• 5 July 2026 — Visited Madarsa Meel Khedla and met Maulana Rashid Sahab. Discussed integrating modern subjects (English, computers, science) alongside religious education so students can succeed in both worlds.
• 3 July 2026 — Extended best wishes and support to all Mewati candidates appearing in HTET-2026 (Haryana Teachers Eligibility Test), and acknowledged Nuh district administration for the security, water, and health arrangements at exam centres.
• 2 July 2026 — Inspected multiple government schools across Mewat; documented inadequate seating, missing basic facilities, and other weaknesses in the education system that need urgent attention.
• 29 June 2026 — Met Khubi Sarpanch ji at his chaupal to share the mission’s vision and secure his support for education work in his village.
• 24 June 2026 — Round-table at the MCI Lakshya office with educationists, teachers, and community leaders from Mewat to shape the mission’s next steps.

Aravalli Premier League (APL) 2026

MCI Lakshya extended support to the Aravalli Premier League 2026 — a major cricket tournament created to give the sporting talent of Mewat a bigger stage. Azad Mehrab was invited as Chief Guest of the tournament, with international cricketer Shahbaz Ahmad attending as VIP Guest. The event carried a significant prize pool and drew participation from teams across Mewat.

Mehrab Prerna Samman Samaroh — Recognising Mewat’s Achievers

A recognition ceremony organised by MCI Lakshya to honour Mewati individuals who have made a real difference in their respective fields — from civil services and journalism to sport, art, culture, and social work. Awards were presented by Azad Mehrab, with community elders, scholars, and dignitaries in attendance. Each honouree carries a story that shows what is possible when Mewat’s people are backed with encouragement and opportunity.

Awardees honoured:

• Ghafruddin Mewati Jogi ji — Renowned folk artist of the Bhapang (a traditional Mewati string instrument). Recently conferred the Padma Shri by President Draupadi Murmu ji for his decades of work preserving Mewat’s folk music and culture.
• Zaheer Khan — Won the Gold Medal at the 3rd All India Police Weightlifting Championship, bringing pride to the whole of Mewat.
• Sabila Rajuddin Jang — Recognised for her sustained work in education and social service, and for setting an example for other women of Mewat.
• Azharuddin — A young powerlifter making his name on the national stage through his dedication to the sport.
• Siddiq Ahmad Mev — Honoured for his contributions to preserving and communicating the history and heritage of the Mev community.
• Mumtaz “Kokila” — A widely respected journalist from Mewat, honoured for her voice and her example to daughters of the region.
• Shahrukh Khan Utawad — Recognised for clearing the UPSC Civil Services examination and inspiring the next generation of Mewati youth.

Punjab Flood Relief

When Punjab faced devastating flooding, MCI Lakshya worked to deliver ration and essential supplies to families left stranded by the disaster. As co-sponsor, the trust supported on-ground distribution efforts to ensure no family went without basic provisions during the crisis.

Education Awareness Campaign

A community awareness campaign promoting the importance of education was organized in the Mewat region, mobilizing students and reaching out to families to encourage school enrolment and consistent attendance.

COVID-19 Relief Drive

During the COVID-19 lockdown, MCI Lakshya helped distribute atta, rice, and oil to families in vulnerable communities who had lost their daily wage earnings. Working alongside community partners, the trust reached settlements where help was most urgently needed.

COVID-19 Emergency Support

One of the trust's earliest relief efforts during the pandemic — atta, rice, and oil delivered to families in poor settlements during the strict lockdown phase. The trust was active when access to food was a critical daily concern for many.

Roadside Relief for Migrants

During the migrant crisis of the COVID-19 lockdown, the trust's volunteers met traveling families along highways with food, water, and emergency supplies — including support for women and young children making long journeys home.
